What’s it like to be a quality analyst (QA)?
This is something I used to think when I was in some other line of work, but once I did, I realised it was a difficult but fun job.
There are times when you finally discover a bug that a developer insists does not exist, and you feel like a superhero who has just saved the day.
Being QA is challenging as it involves the process of testing applications on various webs or mobiles. It takes skill to identify even the most minor or edge case issues.
When you’re testing a new feature and think it’s perfect, only to come to the realisation that you forgot to test a critical scenario, causing the entire thing to fail.
Here’s another: while testing a mobile application, your phone suddenly crashes or freezes, and you’re not sure if it’s the app or your phone’s instability.
While software testing can be a serious job, keeping a sense of humour is essential. These humorous moments can help to break up the monotony of the job and make it more enjoyable. Lastly, always remember that skilled QAs are a highly valued and necessary part of any development team.
